Welcome to the NEW Bloomington Drug blog!  Here, we look forward to sharing information, advice and the latest news on all topics relating to your health and the health of your loved ones.  We want to use this blog as another platform to connect with our prescribers and customers and welcome your feedback, topic suggestions and questions.

Bloomington Drug was established in 1948 and was the first pharmacy in the city of Bloomington, MN.  In 1971, Paul and Doris Schaffer purchased Bloomington Drug where Paul worked as an owner and lead pharmacist for the next 40 years.  Over the past three years, Paul and Doris’s youngest son Jeff has transitioned into the store’s second generation owner and pharmacist.  He’s brought with him new and fresh ideas while continuing to maintain the values of trust, knowledge and communication the customers of Bloomington Drug have known for decades. 

 What may seem new to many lifelong customers however is our beautifully remodeled interior.  Jeff, his wife Sarah and the incredible staff at Bloomington Drug have been working tirelessly since September 2014 to refresh the store with a new layout, flooring, cabinetry and much more.  The store has been opened up to allow for fantastic natural lighting to pour into our front picture windows, showcasing our gift shop that feels more like a boutique than ever before. 

 So while some things have changed at Bloomington Drug, the paint or a few new faces, many constants still remain: the dedication we have to our customers and providers, the importance we place on communication, along with the trust and relationships we have built within our community.  These are the building blocks that make Bloomington Drug special, to our family and to yours.
